Green Initiatives |
Infinity has taken the following steps to increase awareness and implement green strategies within our organization:
- Ordering recycled or biodegradable conference materials
- Recycling excess generic conference materials
- Reducing duplication of conference materials whenever possible
- Including green initiatives in hotel contracts that cover placement
of labeled recycling bins, as well as labeled bins for real trash, near
each meeting room and at registration/break areas
- Office recycling of all plastics, paper, cans, glass and cardboard
- Using 100% recycled paper
- Donation of unused meeting materials like pens, pads of paper, and
bags to local schools and
homeless shelters
- Giving clients the option of using our Survey Monkey account to evaluate
meetings instead of having participants complete paper evaluation forms
- Asking clients if they wish to have presentations and participant lists
e-mailed to participants as opposed to having speakers or Infinity staff
provide printed copies
- Working with clients to effectively use Web announcements, online registration,
and e-mail confirmations as opposed to paper versions
- Based on clients’ requests, placing all meeting materials on a USB
drive, as an alternative to folders and binders, and distributing information
electronically to the meeting participants
- Creating reusable signage and banners for meetings that occur annually
or on a regular basis
- Requesting hotel staff to sort waste materials when cleaning up meeting rooms
- Collecting participants badges after the meeting so that they may be
recycled and/or supplying ecofriendly name badges
- Ensuring any hard copies of meeting materials are printed double-sided
whenever the client agrees it
is appropriate
- Working with meeting facilities to arrange for the local recycling
of conference materials
- Reusing badge holders, binders, ribbons, and other meeting materials
whenever possible
- Reviewing hotel contracts and other documents to ensure the meeting
facilities have a green
