Sustainable Initiatives
Infinity has taken the following steps to increase awareness and implement sustainable initiatives within our organization:
- Ordering recycled or biodegradable materials
- Recycling excess generic materials
- As an alternative to folders and binders and to reduce duplication of paper materials whenever possible by suggesting items be provided on a CD-ROM, USB drive, posted on a conference Web site or App
- Including sustainable initiatives in facility contracts that cover placement of labeled recycling bins, as well as labeled bins for real trash, near each meeting room and at registration/break areas
- Office recycling of all plastics, paper, cans, glass and cardboard
- Using 100% recycled paper
- Donation of unused meeting materials such as pens, pads of paper, and bags to local schools, homeless shelters, and non-profit organizations
- Suggesting the option of using our Survey Monkey account to evaluate meetings instead of having participants complete paper evaluation forms
- Presenting clients with the option of having presentations and participant lists e-mailed to participants as opposed to having speakers or Infinity staff provide printed copies
- Working with clients to effectively use Web and App announcements, online registration accessible via internet and mobile, and e-mail confirmations as opposed to paper versions
- Creating reusable signage and banners for reoccurring meetings and using sleeves and sign inserts for specific event information thus reducing the number of signs that need to be created
- Requesting facility staff to sort waste materials when cleaning up meeting rooms
- Supplying ecofriendly name badges and collecting and recycling participant’s name badges at the conclusion of the meeting
- Ensuring any hard copies of materials are printed double-sided whenever the client agrees it is appropriate
- Working with facilities to arrange for local recycling of conference materials and donation of leftover food
- Reusing badge holders, binders, ribbons, and other materials whenever possible
- Reviewing facility contracts and other documents to ensure the inclusion of sustainable initiatives programs
- Requesting reusable service items and when feasible using garnishes and decorations that can be consumed or donated
- Working with vendors to ensure that they have a sustainability program in place and that their staff is from the local area
- Informing travelers of all local transportation options including bus routes, multi-use trails, shuttles, bike rentals, ride share services, and light rail
