Protecting the Environment through Sustainable Conference Planning
July 23, 2015 - Infinity’s client, the International Society of Exposure Science (ISES), is committed to protecting the natural environment through responsible resource utilization at their annual meetings.
ISES is taking steps to have a lower-impact meeting by:
Saving more than 42,000 pages of conference materials!
For the second year, ISES will develop a conference app instead of printing the meeting program.
Giving away promotional products that help the environment.
ISES is providing conference attendees with Tankee Clipper, a toilet fill cycle diverter that is estimated to save up to a half gallon of water per flush, and a glass water bottle, to promote environmentally friendly water consumption. Participants will also carry home their gifts in a recycled tote bag!
Utilizing sustainable meeting facilities.
When choosing a conference site, ISES wanted Infinity to focus on providing site selection services with sustainability in mind. This year’s meeting will be held at the M in Henderson, Nevada, which has taken several steps towards environmental stewardship. Energy efficiency and water conservation are paramount in a desert environment. The M uses passive cooling and natural lighting to improve energy efficiency and promotes water conservation by offering a $5 coupon to guests choosing to re-use towels and linens. The meeting location also highlights municipal efforts to promote environmental sustainability and green business practices. Las Vegas has adopted some of the most stringent water-conversation regulation in the country and uses less water today than it did 15 years ago despite growth.
Doreen Albertson, President of Infinity, says “we are happy to work with clients who share the values and concerns that we, as a company, have for the environment. It’s always been our corporate philosophy to serve clients that align with our own corporate philosophy.”
