Elevating the Attendee Experience
INFINITY collaborated with our production team to overcome a major architectural hurdle through thoughtful design, layout and technology to facilitate equal participation and enhance engagement at a recent conference.
CHALLENGE
Picture walking into the assigned plenary room to find two large structural columns obstructing the view from the back rows on both the center and side sections. Not exactly ideal—especially when clear sightlines to the stage are critical.
SOLUTION
Our team went to work, assessing every angle of the room and collaborating closely with organizers and the production team to design a layout that worked with the space instead of against it. Here’s how we turned visual roadblocks into design opportunities:
- In addition to screens flanking the stage, we strategically placed a center screen to provide optimal visibility for attendees seated in the rear of the room.
- We turned the pesky columns into assets by placing screens on top of pedestals in front of them—angled toward the back of the room. Bonus: we powered them using the columns’ own outlets, keeping the aisles clean and wire-free.
- By angling the left and right seating sections diagonally, everyone on the sides had a clear shot of the stage—no neck craning required.
RESULTS
Despite the physical obstacles, the hybrid conference was a resounding success. Equal visibility for all in-person attendees led to greater engagement during sessions and the intentional layout fostered a cohesive, purpose-driven environment.
